How to Gain New Specializations in Dragon's Dogma 2
Obtain Pawn Tomes given by various NPCs in town.
Your Main Pawn can learn a new Specialization in the game when you obtain special Pawn Tomes given by friendly NPCs. Pawn Tomes are rare types of Implement items that permanently grant a new Specialization trait to your Main Pawn or erases their current one in favor of the new.
There are various types of Pawn Tomes you can receive in the game, each of which are named after the Specialization that they give to your Main Pawn upon use.
Increase affinity with NPCs to get Pawn Tomes.
Town NPCs in the game will only give you Pawn Tomes imbued with their knowledge and abilities only after you have increased your affinity with them. This requires you to do specific side quests associated with certain NPCs or hear out and fulfill their requests. Only after you have earned their favor will they be willing to impart various special traits to your Main Pawn via Pawn Tomes.
What are Specializations in Dragon's Dogma 2?
Specializations are a type of special trait in Dragon's Dogma 2 that your Main Pawn can learn. These traits bestow unique abilities to the Pawn such as being able to understand and interpret Elvish or being able to know the locations of materials on the map.
Can your Main Pawn learn more than one Specialization?
Your Main Pawn can only learn one type of Specialization. Using a Specialization Tome will allow them to acquire one unique trait by overwriting any existing ones they currently have.
