Rise of the Ronin will Support Co-op Multiplayer
The game's story missions can be done with up to three (3) players online.
As confirmed in the FAQs section on Rise of the Ronin's official website, the upcoming open-world action role-playing game by Team Ninja will support online co-op multiplayer with up to three (3) players.
This feature, however, is only limited to the game's story missions with optional content such as side quests and other activities only doable solo. There will also be no player-versus-player (PvP) mode in the game.
In an interview with Japanese game magazine Famitsu, Rise of the Ronin game director Fumihiko Yasuda has likened the title's multiplayer experience to that of Team Ninja's acclaimed Nioh series which was generally well-received by players.
Note that Rise of the Ronin's co-op mode requires PlayStation Plus paid membership and an internet connection to play online.
Rise of the Ronin was developed by Team Ninja and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The title is set for release on March 22nd, 2024 exclusively for the PlayStation 5 (PS5).
